Chess in Southeast Asian Games 2022 in Vietnam

Chess will be an official sport in the Southeast Asian Games scheduled 9-21 May 2022 in Vietnam.

In above photo taken on December 11, 2019, performers from Vietnam participate in the closing ceremony of the last SEA Games at the athletics stadium in Clark, north of Manila, Philippines. The Southeast Asian Games were postponed from last year due to the pandemic.

The SEA Games wll be held in various cities aside from the capital Hanoi. Chess returns to Quang Ninh, a province along the northeastern coast of Vietnam. It is about 153 km (95 mi) east of Hanoi, comprising four cities, two district-level towns and seven rural districts. The province is home to Hạ Long Bay, a World Heritage Site.
