Du Yuxin of China Wins Asian Amateur Women’s Online Chess Championship

Twenty year old Du Yuxin of China (photo above) won the Asian Amateur Women’s Chess Championship with a convincing score of 8 points out of 9 rounds in the tournament held by the Asian Chess Federation in association with the Oman Chess Committee 12-14 November 2021 on Tornelo. Du pocketed the top prize of $500. A total of 57 women from 15 countries competed in the 9-round Swiss system.

   

Top seed compatriot Hu Yi, 34, trailed with 7.5 points for silver and $300 followed by Cecilia Natalie Liuviann, 16, of Indonesia with 6.5 points and the better tie break for the bronze and $200.

Arnash Bauyrzhan of Kazakhstan, 21, WCM Ning Isabelle Yixuan, 12, of New Zealand, Sun Jihanm, 16, of China and Siyahirah Quinsha Adinda, 12, of Indonesia won $100 each for the rating category prizes.,
