Four Teams Share Lead in Asian Club Cup Hybrid Chess Championship

After two rounds of the Asian Club Cup Hybrid Chess Championship, four teams share the lead with unbeaten scores. Singapore Chess Hub @Jurong Spring, Bangladesh Police, Pyramid of Iran and Fekre Bartar whitewashed their respective opponents to tally 4 match points each. SGCHessHub@JurongSpring defeated compatriots Lion City Chess Meetup 5.5-0.5.  Since both teams are playing in the Singapore Chess Federation, they agreed to play over-the-board, which is allowed in hybrid chess tournaments.

Top seed Pyramid of Iran remained unbeaten after trouncing Super Knight CC of Singapore with a game score of 5 – 1.

Second seed Bangladesh Police, bannered by GM Enamul Hossain and GM Ziaur Rahman, likewise defeated Pishgam Novin of Iran with 4 wins and 2 draws for a 5 – 1 victory.

Fekre Bartar (IRI) won over Fars Youth, also of Iran 4 ½ – 1 ½.

Six Teams are not far behind with 2 match points to share 5th – 10 place. RiChess Masters  of the Philippines (below left) won 5½ – ½ over Abdishmandan Sabzewar of Iran  (below right) .

Super Knight CC2 beat Check.mate.club of Iran (5 – 1).

and Bishan (Singapore) beat Borna Sabzevar (Iran) with a score of 5 – 1.
