The Saudi Arabian University Sports Union, in cooperation with the Saudi Chess Federation has organized the Saudi Universities Chess Tournament in Al-Baha city during the period of May 12th to the 14th 2022. Making the ceremonial opening moves above are, from left, Mr. Abdullah Al-Zamil, Tournament Manager, Dr. Khaled Al-Muzaini, President of the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities, Dr. Ahmed Saed of Al Baha university, Mr.Yaser Al-Otaibi, Representative of the Saudi Chess Federation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Silwi, Secretary General of the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities and Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi of Al Baha University.
Ahmed Alruhaili of the Islamic University won the 1st prize while Abdulrahman Aroob of Kind Abdulaziz University had won the 2nd place and Mustafa Al-Khabbaz of King Fahad Petroleum University came in 3rd.
On the Women’s side, Muznah Al-Quraishi of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University came 1st and Leen Al-Dossary of Princess Norah University came 2nd and Sarah Ishaaq of King Abdulaziz University took the 3rd place.
Dr. Khalid Al-Muzaini, the president of the Union, along with the secretary general Dr. Abdulelah Al-Salawi has awarded the winners with medals and cups and congratulated participants and winners. Both expressed their gratitude for the successful cooperation with the Saudi Chess Federation.
