  1. PARTICIPANTS

(1) Chess players under the age of 25 (inclusive) from all member countries of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), sex not limited;

(2) Arbitrators are designated by China Chess Association; volunteers are selected by the organizer based on competition needs.

  1. COMPETITION METHOD
  2. This competition adopts the latest rules of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and calculates international rating points(Elo).
  3. Rules: Both Group A and B shall be conducted as a Swiss System of 9 rounds. The time control is 90 minutes with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one for Group A; 60 minutes with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one for Group B.
  4. Competition grouping:

(1) Group A: Chess players from all member countries of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) who are under 25 years old (including 25 years old) and have an international rating of more than 1800 points, regardless of gender.

(2) Group B: Chess players from all member countries of the International Chess Federation who are under 25 years old (including 25 years old) and have an international rating of less than or equal to 1800 points, regardless of gender.

  1. AWARDS

The total prize money for this competition is CNY 105,700 (pre-tax). 20% of the individual prize money will be deducted for tax, and the prize money will be shared equally among players with the same points.

1st     ¥20,000                        5th   ¥4,000

2nd     ¥15,000                        6th   ¥3,000

3rd     ¥8,000                         7th   ¥2,000

4th     ¥5,000                         8th   ¥1,500,

9th –16th   ¥1,000 each                  17th -24th   ¥800 each

If there are fewer than 20 participants, the top 4 will receive prize money; if there are fewer than 50 participants, the top 8 will receive prize money.

  1. Open Group B:

1st     ¥8,000                         5th    ¥1,500

2nd     ¥5,000                         6th    ¥1,000

3rd     ¥3,000                         7th    ¥800

4th     ¥2,000                         8th    ¥700

9th —16th   ¥500 each                  17th—24th   ¥400 each

25th—36th   ¥300 each

If there are fewer than 80 participants, the top 24 will receive prize money; if there are fewer than 60 participants, the top 18 will receive prize money; if there are fewer than 40 participants, the top 12 will receive prize money.

 

Champion of Group A and B will be awarded a trophy. The top three players of Group B will be eligible to participate in Group A competition of the 6th “Boyi Cup” China Youth Chess International Open in 2024.

Ⅷ. EXPENSES

  1. Fees

Insurance: 10 CNY per player

Players with Elo rating over 2400: exempt

Players with Elo rating of 2400-1800: 50 USD/350 CNY

Players without Elo rating: 80USD/560CNY

Accommodation and meals for participating players will be arranged by the organizing committee, and the expenses will be borne by the participants themselves.

Attention: Travel expenses for participating players are at their own expense.
