Jakarta, 5 May 2023 – The airport banner above greets arriving international passengers as the Zone 3.3 Men’s and Women’s Zonal Championship starts today in Jakarta, Indonesia with widespread publicity and biggest prize fund offered by organizing Indonesian Chess Federation. At stake are qualification slots for the World Cup and Women’s World Cup plus a total of US$15.000 in cash prizes with US$9,000 for the men’s and US$6,000 in the women’s.
Ten Grandmasters are competing in the Men’s field of 33 players from 9 countries. In the women’s 7 Woman Grandmasters are competing in a field of 22 players from six countries.
