
Eleven-year-old Sina Movahed of Iran won the Asian Amateur Open Online Chess Championship alone with 8 points out of 9 rounds in the tournament hosted by the Oman Chess Committee under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation 12-18 November 2021 on Tornelo. A total of 175 players from 22 countries competed in the 9-round Swiss. See results of women’s division.

Thirteen-year-old Sai Surapaneni Chidvilash of India won the silver with 7.5 points, ahead by tie break over Allan Pason, 24, of the Philippines who won bronze.

Movahed Sina won last year the Under-10 division of the FIDE World Cadets & Youth Rapid Championships 2020. At the age of 6, he saw a brochure of the Hamidavi Chess Schools and asked his father to enrol him. Hamidavi was his first coach. As he improved he was coached by FM Asgari who saw him become Asian Champion. Today he is coached by GM Darini and GM Idani and studies chess 6-7 hours a day and practices online.
