5-Way Tie for Lead in World Juniors, Divya Deshmukh Leads World Girls

Five boys share the lead with two rounds remaining in the World Juniors Chess Championship in Gujarat, India. Tied with 7 points each out of 9 rounds are IM Nogerbek Kazybek of Kazakhstan, IM Rudik Makarian of Russia playing under the FIDE flag, GM Cardoso Gabriel of Colombia, IM Daniel Quizon of the Philippines and GM Mamikon Gharibyan of Armenia. Three others are half a point behind within striking distance at 6.5 points apiece.
