
A. Kumaresh of India (rated 1703) won the Asian Amateur Chess Championship under 2000 held 27th August 2023 to 4th September 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Asian Chess Federation General Secretary Hisham Al Taher (second from left) awards the champion’s trophy to Kumaresh.

German Santiago of the Philippines won the under-1700 category.

Rouda Essa, Alserkal of the United Arab Emirates won the women’s under-2000 while Gamage Desandhi Dhihansa of Sri Lanka won the women’s under-1700.
A total of 120 men and 42 women participated from 28 countries. The event was supported by the FIDE Planning and Development Commission.
