
The All India Chess Federation (AICF), under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) and FIDE, will organize the Asian Junior Chess Championships 2026 in Mumbai, India, from 16 to 26 August 2026.
The championship is open to players representing federations affiliated with the Asian Chess Federation.

Eligible participants must be born on or after 1 January 2006 (Under-20 category). Separate Open and Girls events will be conducted, with each federation entitled to register one official player in each section, in addition to any number of extra players.
The event will feature competitions in Standard, Rapid, and Blitz chess. The Standard Championship will be played over 9 Swiss-system rounds with a time control of 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one. The Rapid Championship will consist of 7 rounds with a time control of 15 minutes plus a 10-second increment, while the Blitz Championship will be played with a time control of 3 minutes plus a 2-second increment.
The tournament will commence with arrivals on 16 August, followed by the Technical Meeting, Opening Ceremony, Blitz Championship, and the first round of the Rapid Championship on 17 August. The Standard Championship will begin on 20 August and conclude on 25 August, followed by the Closing Ceremony. Departures are scheduled for 26 August.
The championship offers valuable title opportunities in accordance with FIDE regulations. Subject to the required number of participants and federations, direct titles and title norms may be awarded. Gold medalists in the Standard Championship may earn the International Master (IM) or Woman International Master (WIM) title, together with a Grandmaster (GM) or Woman Grandmaster (WGM) norm, respectively.
Official players (one per federation per section) will receive complimentary accommodation in shared rooms provided by the organizers. Additional participants and accompanying persons may stay at the official hotels at special championship rates.
A registration fee of USD 110 applies to all participants, officials, and accompanying persons. Entry fees are USD 75 for official players and USD 150 for additional players, covering participation in Standard, Rapid, and Blitz events.
