The Press-Briefing of the Bangabandhu Asian Zone-3.2 Chess Championships, Open and Women’s Championships was held at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room today (Sunday).
The Zonals to be held in Dhaka from 2 to 10 May 2023 qualify for the FIDE World Cup 2023 and FIDE Women’s World Cup 2023. the event is sponsored by Shah Cement and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation .
Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim, President of FIDE Asian Zone-3.2 and General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation gave a speech with various information in this press-briefing.
K M Shahidullah, Vice President of Bangladesh Chess Federation and International Chess Arbiter Md. Haroonn Or Rashid spoke in this press-briefing. Three members of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Chess Federation, International Organizer Mahmuda Hoque Chowdhury Moly, Zakir Ahmed and Sajal Mahmud were present in the press-briefing.
The opening ceremony of the zonal chess will be held at Jalsaghar of Hotel Purbani International on Tuesday, May 2nd at 3-00 PM. The game will start immediately after the opening ceremony at the same venue.
Zonal Chess Open and Women’s Division are being held in 9 round Swiss-League format over 9 days. Open prize fund of $4,100 and Women’s prize fund of $2,900 will be awarded in the tournaments.
