Balochistan Chess Association, in collaboration with Chess Federation of Pakistan, Balochistan Sports Board, Pakistan Sports Board and Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs Balochistan, has organized the biggest Chess event till date in the province with the support from Browne Gymkhana, Pakistan Educational Foundation and Balochistan Cricket Board. The historic event was named in sweat memories of Malik Gul Hassan Kasi.
In the mega event “First Malik Gul Hassan Kasi Memorial All Pakistan Rapid Chess Championship” 112 players from all over the country participated, in which 41 players were FIDE Rated, which is a record in the country.
In the opening ceremony games were initiated between Secretary Sports & Youth affairs Govt of Balochistan Imran Gichki and President BCA MPA Mir Akther hussain Langove, along with ex-Speaker/Governor Balochistan Madam Rahila Hameed Durrani and Vice-president CFP Amin Malik.
Mr. Imran Gichki appreciated the continuous efforts of Balochistan chess association in promotion of the game and ensured his support in every possible way with BCA.
Madam Rahila Hameed Durrani, elected as Chief Patron of the association, showed her gratitude and welcomed the participants from all over the country, including healthy participation from women players from other provinces.
In the 9 Rounds Swiss system Rapid Championship, all eyes were over the game of Dr Muhammad Ayoub (winner of last four events and winning 6/8 event this year) and Muhammad Younis Malghani (Current Balochistan Champion). The game was a high class encounter in Neo-Grunfeld, where Dr Muhammad Ayoub won the middle game battle.

It was not easy to stop Dr Ayoub after that and he won his fifth consecutive Crown in style.

Young 11 year old Rehan Khan Nasir (South Asian Gold Medalist) stood tenth in open category with classy wins over senior players, with clear first in Juniors, while Syeda Aliza from Lahore scored first in women.
Cash Prizes, trophies and Medals distributed in top 15, while Certificate of appreciation given to all participants.
In the 11 Round Swiss system “Malik Gul Hassan Kasi memorial All Pakistan Blitz Chess Championship” Mr Tariq Mughal from Karachi showcased amazing Blitz skills and won the event with perfect score of 11/11. Muhammad Younis Malghani stood second while Amin Malik got third place.
All participanst were provided with transport allowance, clean AC rooms for accommodation and Lunch and refreshments during both events.
Dr Muhammad Ayoub General Secretary BCA appreciated the marvelous zeal of the Chess Community and the extreme hard work of Tournament director Prof Syed Wasee Akther and Chief Arbiter Muhammad Siddique, whom worked truly hard to make this event a huge success. He acknowledged that this largest event in the history of province (number of participants) and the biggest till date tournament in the history of the country (number of FIDE Rated players) and the first and only event in the history where all participanst were given proper transport allowance for both sides as well as accommodation in clean AC rooms, was only possible because of full support of Senior VP BCA Malik Anwer Saleem Kasi and guidance of Afzal Mengal and Yousuf Baloch. We are really thankful to all participants from all over the country and to Amin Malik and Kamran Qureshi for their participation and every possible support to make it an historic event.
