MANILA, Philippines— Ted Ian Montoyo of Bacolod City scored 273 points in a 12-hour Chess Marathon organized by endicraft of Colegas de Kike, Madrid, Spain to lead the Espana Chess Club to 2nd place finish. The tournament was held at lichess. com last July 6 to 7, 2021 with a time control of 3 minutes and zero-increment.
Montoyo was supported by top 20 leader boards teammates Nicky Nikoy Olvina, Leo Mirana, Judemund Ramirez, NM Julius Sinangote, Gerald Lumberio, Clement Valledor, Rhenz Rhean Auza, Alex Amatonding, Louise Manuel Macalintal, Ronjay Opilas, Rodelio Lopez, Mark Anthony Carganilla, Joel Obogne, Eric Calacday, Eduardo Campos Jr., Roland Villa, Ramil Talab, Renato Mame, Vincent Brimbuela, and other 98 players who joined ECC-PH-INTL. team.
