GM Enamul Hossain Razib Wins Bangabandhu 47th Chess Championship-2022

Reigning national chess champion GM Enamul Hossain Razib of SAIf Sporting Club became champion in the Bangabandhu 47th National Chess Championship under the financial sponsorship of Abul Khair Group and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation was held at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room.

GM Razib secured the title with 11 points in 13 games to keep the national chess title intact. This is GM Razib’s sixth national chess title. Previously he won the national chess title in 1997, 2006, 2016, 2017, 2021.

The final round of the games were held in the Chess Federation Hall-Room, 2nd floor of the old building of the National Sports Council. GM Enamul Hossain Razib defeated CM Md Shawket Bin Osman Shaon in the last round of the game. GM Razib played with white pieces and chose the Ruy-Lopez Opening system and won against CM Shaon 24th Moves. GM Ziaur Rahman and IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar will take part in the play-off match for runner-up and 3rd place. GM Zia and IM Fahad earned 9½ points each. The play-off match will be held Friday 30th Dec from 3-30 PM.
