Kong, Xiangrui of China and Savitha, Shri B of India won the Asian Individual titles

*2026 Asian Individual Chess Championship Concludes Successfully in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia*

The 2026 Asian Individual Chess Championship has officially concluded after nine rounds of high-level competition, bringing together *245 players from 28 countries and territories* the highest participation in the history of the event.

With a *record-breaking prize fund of USD 100,000*, this year’s championship marked another significant milestone for Asian chess.

In the Open section, *IM Kong Xiangrui (China)* claimed the continental title, followed by *GM Xiao Tong (China)* in second place and *GM Zhamsaran Tsydypov (FIDE)* in third.

In the Women’s section, *IM Savitha Shri B (India)* emerged as the champion, with *WGM Afruza Khamdamova (Uzbekistan)* and *IM Song Yuxin (China)* completing the podium.

As a result of their outstanding performances, the *top five finishers in the Open section* and the *Women’s Champion* secured qualification spots for the *FIDE World Cup* to be held next year.

Asian Individual Chess Championship concluded in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after 9 rounds at 6th June 2026. The closing ceremony was organized with the attendance of Parliament members and many high officials, including the Ambassador of India in Mongolia, and a very nice art performance was also shown during the closing ceremony.
