The Marcel Invitational International Rating Chess Tournament, sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries plc and organized by Bangladesh Chess Federation, started today (Tuesday) at the Sports Room of Bangladesh Chess Federation.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the ground floor Conference room of the National Sports Council. FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), Senior Executive Director, Walton Group, inaugurated the competition as the Chief Guest. Masudur Rahman Mallick Dipu, Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation and Md. Haroon Or Rashid, International Chess Arbiter gave speeches spoke on the occasion. Total 56 players including one international master, 5 FIDE masters are participating in the event.
