Movahed Sina of Iran, Sai Surapameri Chidvilash of India Lead Asian Amateur Chess Championship

Movahed Sina of Iran and Sai Surapameri Chidvilash of India remain unbeaten after six rounds of the Asian Amateur Chess Championship hosted by the Oman Chess Committee under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation. A total of 175 players from 22 countries are competing in the 9-round Swiss.

Sina defeated erstwhile co-leader CM Bhavesh Mahajan of India while Sai Surapameri Chidvilash won over 10th seed Amjad Fahmi of Yemen for his sixth point and a tie for the lead. The two leaders face each other in the seventh round.

Eleven (11) players are on their tails with  5 points apiece in a tie for 3rd – 13th place.
