IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman won against GM Ulvi Sadikhov of Azerbaijan in the 5th round games in the Sheikh Russel International Grand Masters Chess Competition-2021 now being held at Dilkusha Hall of Hotel Purbani in Dhaka on the occasion of birth anniversary of Shahid Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Sheikh Russell International Grand Masters Chess Competition is held under the auspices of Saif Powertech Limited and organized by Bangladesh Chess Federation. IM Fahad Rahman played with white pieces against King’s Indian Defense of GM Sadikhov and won at 41 moves.
GM Srinath Narayanan of India and GM Mosadeghpour Masoud of Iran are now jointly leads in the points table with 4½points each after 5th round games.
Six players sharing 2nd position with 4 points each.
