
The Bangladesh Chess Federation will celebrate 102nd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father nation and the greatest Bengali nation of all time and also organise a chess competition for children on the occasion of National Children’s Day. The Rapid Chess Competition for boys and girls will start tomorrow (Thursday) from 9:00 AM in the Conference-Room at ground floor of the old building of the National Sports Council. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 102nd birthday will be celebrated by slice a cake at the same place at 11:00 AM. All participating players are asked to be present in the playing room before 9:00 AM on tomorrow (Thursday). The winners of the 7 round Swiss-League competition will be awarded total cash prize of fifty thousand Taka.
Golden Jubilee of Independence Premier Division Chess League and First Division Chess League 2021-22
Reigning premier league champion Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Biman are maintaining their jointly leads in the points table with maximum 14 points each after end of the 7th round matches of the Golden Jubilee of Independence Premier Division Chess League powered by Shah Cement and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation is now being held at the Crown Hall-Room of Asia Hotel & Resorts in Topkhana Road, Dhaka. SAIF Sporting Club is in 2nd position with 10 points and Shahin Chess Club is in 3rd position with 8 points.
7th round matches were held today (Wednesday). In the 7th round matches, Bangladesh Police defeated Titas Club by 3-1 game points. GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib and Indian GM D Gukesh won against FM Md Saif Uddin Lavlu and CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh of Titas Clubrespectively. Indian GM Erigaisi Arjun and IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh Police drew with IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh and GM Hmanshu Sharma of Titas Club respectively.
Bangladesh Biman beat Rupali Bank Krira Parisad by 3-1 game points. Indian GM Abhimanyu Puranik and Indian GM Mitrabha Guha of Bangladesh Biman won against Indian GM Srinath Narayanan and Anata Chowdhury of Rupali Bank Krira Parisad. IM Abu Sufian Shakil and FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Biman drew with CM Sadnan Hasan Dihan and Indian GM Sankalp Gupta of Rupali Bank Krira Parisad.
Saif Sporting Club beat Shahin Chess Club by game points. GM Niaz Murshed and Iranian GM Idani Pouya won against CM S M Sharon and IM Aditya Mittal of Shahin Chess Club respectively. Georgian GM Mikheil Mchedlisvili and GM Reefat Bin Sattar of Saif Sporting Club drew with Indian IM V Pranav and FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Shahin Chess Club respectively.
Manha’s Castle drew with Bangladesh Navy by 2-2 game points. Indian GM Harsha Bharathakoti and Indian GM Mendonca Leon Luke of Manha’s Castle won against FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed and FM Subrota Biswas of Bangladesh Navy respectively. IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin and CM Md Sharif Hossain of Bangladesh Navy beat CM Sohel Chowdhury and Jabed Al Azad of Manha’s Castle respectively.
Uttara Central Chess Club beat Sheikh Russel Chess Club by 2½-1½ game points. Indian FM Nitish Belurkar and CM Ikramul Haq Siam of Uttara Central Chess Club won against Sakline Mostafa Sajid and Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan of Sheikh Russel Chess Club respectively. GM Diptayan Ghosh of Sheikh Russel Chess Club won against CM Manon Reja Neer of Uttara Central Chess Club. Indian IM Bharath Subramaniyam of Uttara Central Chess Club drew with Indian GM Shyam Sundar of Sheikh Russel Chess Club.

FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Indian S Harshad and Mihir Lal Das of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society drew with Indian IM Srijit Paul, Indian IM Aronyak Ghosh and Asif Mahmud of Leonine Chess Club respectively.
