Asgharzadeh used the Reti Opening to launch a fierce kingside sacrificial attack and force resignation in 37 moves (see diagram below).

In the junior division, untitled Utsab Chatterjee of India crushed the Sicilian Defense of Ramadhan Dziththauly of Indonesia in 28 moves to barge into a tie with three others, namely IM Saha Neelas and IM G.B. Harshavardhan of India and IM Sugar Gan-Erdene of Mongolia at 4.5 points each after 6 rounds.

Concio, Zahedifar Win Asian Juniors and Girls Rapid Chess Championships

Filipino International Master Michael “Jako” Concio Jr. and Iranian WIM Anahita Zahedifar won the Asian Juniors and Girls Rapid Chess Championships, respectively. Concio was undefeated with 6.5 points in the 7-round Swiss while Zahedifar tied for first with Nazerke Nugarle of Kazakhstan at 5.5 points each. 31 boys and 18 girls from nine countries competed in the Rapid chess championship at the Knights Templar Ridge Hotel in Tagaytay City, Philippines.

The 17 year old Concio, a Grade 12 student of Dasmariñas Integrated High School collected 6.5 points on six wins and one draw to win the seven-round tournament with time control of 10 minutes and increment of 10 seconds per move.

Concio scored victories over Michael Michio Dela Cruz of the Philippines, Noah Combs of Guam, FIDE Master Eldiar Orozbaev of Kyrgyzstan, Ramadhan Dziththauly  of Indonesia, FIDE Master Arman Hakemi of Iran and International Master Neelash Saha of India. Concio split the point with Chatterjee Utsab of India midway in the fourth round.

FM Eldar Orozbaev of Kyrgyzstan (left) finished second with 5.5 points followed by Dziththauly Ramadhan of Indonesia (right) finished in a three way tie for third with 5 points but with the best tie break score.

In the Girls division, WIM Anahita Zahedifar beat Marian Calimbo of Philippines, top seed WIM Assel Serikbay of Kazakhstan, WIM Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong of Vietnam, WIM Amina Kairbekova of Kazakhstan and Sadey Rinoa Mariel of the Philippines. Zahedifar drew with WFM Patil Bhagyashree of India and lost to WIM Nazerke Nurgali of Kazakhstan.

Kyrgyzstan Chess Federation (Kyrgyz Chess Union) signed a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership. Technology of idChess will be widely used in the broadcasting of Championships for people with Disabilities. This will help them feel their full presence in the chess world.

idChess is an AI-mobile app for recognizing and broadcasting chess games.

It recognizes chess moves during a game, records them in the form of chess notation and saves them in a smartphone. idChess digitizes games in real time, so it can be used to broadcast games to a wide audience.

Asian Juniors and Girls Chess Championships Start in Tagaytay City, Philippines

Top seeds are IM Saha Neelash of India in the boys and WIM Assel Serikbay in the Girls. At stake are GM and WGM norm for the champion and IM and WIM titles and norms.

Sultana Kamal 41st National Women’s ‘B’ Chess Championship 2022

Wadifa Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy became champion in the Sultana Kamal 41st National Women’s ‘B’ Chess Championship-2022 under the sponsorship by Abul Khair Group and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation at the Chess Federation Hall of the old building of National Sports Council in Dhaka.

Wadifa, Warsia Khusbu, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva of Manikganj and Kazi Zarin Tasnim of Bangladesh Navy earned 6½ points each. In the tie-breaking system. Wadifa clinched the title, Warsia Khusbu became runner-up, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva became 3rd and Nusrat Jahan Alo of Bangladesh Police became 4th.

Five players earned 6 points each. Their positions according to tie-breaking system are: 5th– Kazi Zarin Tasnim of Bangladesh Navy, 6th– Umme Taslima Protiva Talukdar of Bagura district, 7th– Tasnia Tarannum Orpa, 8th-WFM Noshin Anjum of Bangladesh Navy & 9th– Sabiha Marjana of Rajshahi Division. 9th or penultimate round games were held today (Monday).

In the last round: Wadifa drew with Khusbu, WFM Eva drew with Zarin, Alo beat Omnia Binte Yusuf Lubaba of Chattogram, WFM Noshin beat Nusrat Jahan Liza of Cumilla district, Protiva beat Neelava Choudhury, Dilara Jahan Nupur of Kushtia beat Maiesha Mahzabin Tisha of Pabna, Sabiha beat Jannatul Ferdousi of Rajshahi district and Orpa beat Jannatul Priti of Barisal district.

A total of 72 players from Dhaka City and various districts participated in this event held in the eight-round Swiss-League format. The top 8 players of this competition will get a chance to play in the Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib 41st National Women’s Chess Championship.

12 players are taking part in the round-robin format event in which former women’s champion WCM Jannatul Ferdous, runner-up WCM Ahmed Walijah, two international women’s masters Rani Hamid & Sharmin Sultana Shirin will participate directly.

The Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib 41st National Women’s Chess Championship will start from 17th November, 2022, Thursday from 3:00 PM at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room.

University Athletic Association of the Philippines Chess Championship

The Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Chess Season 85 started Saturday, November 12 in the FEU Diliman Gymnasium, Quezon City. A total of 119 players will play in this annual event. Lives games are available to watch in DGT live.

Recarte Tiauson Wins Magayon Chess Club Monthly Rapid Open

MANILA—Recarte Tiauson of Barangay Capucnasan Municipality of Milao again stamped his class in the Magayon Chess Club Monthly Open Rapid Chess Tournament held in Legazpi City, Albay last November 12.
The 35-year-old Tiauson , who topped the Paraw Chess Festival in Pilar, Sorsogon and Malilipot Open Chess Tournament in Malilipot, Albay, bagged the top spot in the Gubat Invitational Chess tournament in Gubat, Sorsogon and San Fernando Invitational Chess Championship in San Fernando, Camarines Sur.
Tiauson , who presently worked as Technical Service Manager at Five9 Philippines, completed the 7-round Swiss system tilt with the highest score of 6.5 points to grab the title.
Among his victims were Ricdaniel Gorostiaga  in the first round,  James Ryan Fernandez in the second round, Danilo Borela  in the third round, Danny Bon  in the fourth round, Christian Paul Barroga in the fifth round, Rene del Castillo in the sixth round.
He split the points with Noel Leron in the seventh and final round.
It shall be recalled that Tiauson finished a strong third in the 8th HDBank Cup International Open Chess Tournament Challenger category title at the Army Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2018.
Tiauson, playing under the guidance of Mayor Anthony “Lahbas” Reyes and Vice Mayor Leodel Menes is in a rigid training right now for the upcoming Manny Pacquiao International Open Chess Festival set this December in General Santos City
