Chess Federation of Pakistan president Hanif Qureshi sent the above photo of their team. Qureshi wrote that “Sixteen Pakistani youth are selected through a nationwide trial to ensure merit. This is the first time in history that Pakistani youth started to play in international events. Already this is our 4th international event for youth in a year and half.”

A record 620 plus players shall see action in the Asian Youth Chess Championships scheduled 12-22 December 2023 at the Al Ain Convention Center in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. With accompanying parents, the number shall exceed a thousand participants.
Federations are invited to check the list of their players and age category in chess-results.com and inform the Organizing Committee of corrections, if any.

The Asian Disabled Championships for Men, Women, Juniors and Girls were held 8-9 December 2023 on Tornelo, supported by the FIDE Planning and Development Commission. Fifty players, 20 men, 18 Juniors, six women and six girls participated from nine countries, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.
Darry Bernardo of the Philippines won the Men’s prevailing by tie break in an all-Filipino tie for first.

Among the women, WCM Deniza Kurmanalina of Kazakhstan topped the RR.

Among the Juniors Loo Pin Xie of Malaysia finished alone with 4.5 points out of 5 rounds for first place.

Among the girls Tomiris Kurmanalina of kazakhstan finished alone with 4.5 points

The Kamatyas Invitational GM Tournament 2023 is scheduled to be held on December 9-17, 2023 at the Pande Amerikana, Concepcion Dos, Marikina, Metgro Manila, Philippines beside GM Torre Chess Museum.
International Masters Daniel Quizon and Michael Concio Jr. are the local GM title aspirants taking part in this FIDE weeklong standard tournament hosted by IM Roderick Nava and NM David Almirol Jr. of Kamatyas Chess Club in close cooperation with the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
Concio clinched his first of three GM norms plus an outright IM title after winning the Eastern Asia Juniors Chess Championships held at the Lima Hotel in Tanauan, Batangas in 2019.
Other invited players are WIM Miaoyi Lu (2281 CHN), IM Joel Banawa (2414 USA), IM Paulo Bersamina (2428 PHI), IM Emmanuel Garcia (2403 PHI), GM Susanto Megaranto (2495 INA), GM Tran Tuan Minh (2484 VIE), GM Wei Ming Kevin Goh (2471 SGP) and GM Rogelio “Joey” Antonio Jr. (2386 PHI).

The Asian Online Chess Workshop in English for Open under-20 was held 10-12 November 2023.
Twenty six (26) players from twenty two (22) national federations participated in the workshop.

Participating federations have been advised to register the name, email and Whatsapp number of their Heads of Delegation to the Asian Youth Chess Championship scheduled 12-22 December 2022 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
A Zoom meeting of Heads of Delegations shall be held Friday, 17 November to finalize registration at the web portal. Deadline for registration has been extended to 19 November 2023 since some federations registered by email due to their unfamiliarity with the registration portal. All data should be entered into the registration portal. Flight details may be added later.

Bangladesh held a selection tournament to choose their representatives to the Asian Youth Chess Championship scheduled 12-22 December 2023 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In photo above are the winning girls for all age groups under-8. 10. 12. 14. 16 and 18. In photo below are the winning boys.

Deadline for registration is on 12th November 2023. Those who need visas must submit the necessary documents before the deadline of 12th November 2023. The Entry Fee is USD 75 for an Official Player and USD 150 for an Additional Player. After the deadline of 12th November 2023, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse late registration or accept subject to availability with a late penalty of USD 50 for each entry.
