Philippines, Kazakhstan and Malaysia top Asian Disabled Championships

The Asian Disabled Championships for Men, Women, Juniors and Girls were held 8-9 December 2023 on Tornelo, supported by the FIDE Planning and Development Commission. Fifty players, 20 men, 18 Juniors, six women and six girls participated from nine countries, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

Darry Bernardo of the Philippines won the Men’s prevailing by tie break in an all-Filipino tie for first.

Among the women, WCM Deniza Kurmanalina of Kazakhstan topped the RR.

Among the Juniors Loo Pin Xie of Malaysia finished alone with 4.5 points out of 5 rounds for first place.

Among the girls Tomiris Kurmanalina of kazakhstan finished alone with 4.5 points
