The much awaited event by the Sri Lankan top players, Sri Lanka National B and Women’s National B Chess Championships 2021 will be held 27th & 28th November, 3rd, 4th and 5th of December 2021 at Public Library Colombo with all health guidelines.
The Eligibility
The IMs, FMs / WIMs, WFMs and players having more than 1700 ratings, girls with more than 1400 ratings are directly qualified to the respective event. All players played in SL National B Chess Championships 2020 are also eligible for the event
Wild Card Entries – If any other player feels that he is suitable to play the event, he may apply giving his recent performance. If organizers accept, they may play with a special entry fee.
The events are 9 rounds in Swiss System. The schedule will be announced later. The time control is 90 minutes + 30 Seconds per each move played. The tournament is Internationally Rated.

(Note- Cash awards will be shared in case of a tie. No certificates or awards will be given to the players who are not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony.)
The reigning National Chess Champions, Ranindu Dilshaan Liyanage and Top Ranked Harshana Thilakarathne are qualified to play the National Championships 2021 Finals directly. Therefore, 12 players will be qualified and 2 more will be kept on standbye for the finals.
Since Nethmi Fernando, the Women’s National Chess Champion has opted not to play, 14 players will be qualified from Women’s National B.
Registration can be done by sending the name, FIDE ID and the contact details to cfslchessevents@gmail.com before 12.00 am on 26th November 2021. Late entries are not possible.
