Three players are sharing leads in the points table with maximum 3 points each after 3rd round games of the Begum Laila Alam 12th FIDE Rating Women’s Chess Tournament, under the financial patronage of veteran chess player Begum Laila Alam and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation. The event is now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room.
Sharing the lead are WIM Sharmin Sultana Shirin, WIM Rani Hamid and Nusrat Jahan Alo. Four players are sharing 2nd position with 2½ points each. They are: WFM Noshin Anjum, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva, Israt Jahan Diba and Warsia Khusbu.
3rd round games were held today (Saturday). In the 3rd round: WIM Sharmin Sultana Shirin beat Tasnia Tarannum Orpa, Israt Jahan Diba drew with WFM Nazrana Khan Eva, Nusrat Jahan Alo beat Wadifa Ahmed, WIM Rani Hamid beat Omnia Binta Yusuf Lubaba, Warsia Khusbu beat Raiba Sobhan Adhora, WFM Noshin Anjum beat Ashiya Sultana and WFM Zakia Sultana drew with Afrin Jahan Munia.
The 4th round matches will start tomorrow (Sunday) from 3:30 PM at same venue.
