Vietnam children dominated the ASEAN Age Group Online Chess Championships winning 9 gold medals while Philippines garnered 2 golds in the boys and Malaysia won gold in the girls division. Visit chess-results.com for round by round standings and to download games.
Over 500 players from nine countries participated, namely Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam. The tournament was organized by the Asian Chess Federation and hosted by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
The tournaments were 9-round Swiss system events except for Under-16 girls which was a 9-round Round Robin. Time control was 15 minutes plus increment of 10 seconds per move starting from move 1. Games were played on Tornelo and Fair Play rules were strictly implemented.
