The Grand Finals in the week end!

The Knocked out stage of the 2nd Sri Lanka Youth chess Grand Prix 2021 begins tomorrow at the CFSL headquarters at 9.00 a.m. with the following Semi finals:
Semi Final 1 – Sanidula Dahamdi(Musaeus College), the Group X Winner Vs. Brijeash Saravanabhavan(Gateway College), The Group Y Runner Up
Semi Final 2 – SDBK Senevirathne(Maliyadeva College), the Group Y Winner Vs. Dinul Vinsitha Weerasekara(Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya), The Group Y Runner Up.
The Finals will be on Sunday the 21st of March 2021 at the same venue at the same time between the winners of the Semi finals while the consolation finals will also be held between the losers of the Semi Finals.
The Semifinals and the finals will have two games each giving alternative colours for the players. If the result is 1 each two Rapid Chess games of 15 minutes+ 10 seconds increment with either colour will be played. If still tied two Blitz games with 3 minutes + 2 seconds giving alternate colours will be played. If still tied, an Armageddon game will be played giving 5 minutes to white and 4 minutes to Black. If the game is drawn, Black will be declared as the winner.
The 1st round of the 2nd Sri Lanka Youth (Under 14Yrs) Chess Grand Prix 2021 was held with the participation of 24 leading Chess players in the country from 19th to 14th with the health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and the Director General of Sports Medicine Unit, Ministry of Sports. The Chess Federation of SL has offered a Rs 55,000/= in cash with other attractive awards fo the winners of the event which is conducted by them for the top Youth Chess players in the country. The Prize Distribution will be held on Sunday at 7.30 p.m. at the CFSL HQ, Nugegoda.
