FM Michael Steadman wins Auckland ANZAC Weekender

FM Michael Steadman has won the 41 player 2017 Auckland ANZAC Weekender. He score 5.5/6 to finish half a point ahead of FM Daniel Gong, with FM Allan Fan, IM Paul Gerbett and Antonio Krstev tied for third on 4.5.


The event attracted a number of strong New Zealand players, including Olympiad representatives FM Ben Huage and FM Alexei Kulashko. Steadman played both of these, drawing with Hague and beating Kulashko in a crucial round 5 game.


The tournament was directed by FA Helen Milligan and hosted by the Auckland Chess Club. Full details of the event, including pgn files of each rounds games can be found here.
