Dr Muhammad Ayoub Wins 1st Balochistan Champion of Champions FIDE rated chess Championship 2021

The Balochistan Chess Association (BCA), fully committed to chess promotion, in close collaboration with the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP), under the umbrella of Asian Chess Federation, and support from Pakistan Sports Board, continued over-the-board chess tournaments and kept players’ motivation and morale high. BCA organized 16 top masters of the province championship From April 2-4, named “1st Balochistan Champion of Champions FIDE rated chess Championship 2021” in standard format with 30 minutes per side plus 30 seconds increment from move one. The tournament was 16 players single Round-Robin, where masters and top players from all over the province participated for 3 days from 2-4 April. The total prize fund of the event amounted to 300 USD.

Tournament inauguration was done by Director Pakistan Sports board Muhammad Imran, in the sports complex of PSB.

Honourable secretary sports, and youth affairs, Mr Imran Gichki distributed the prizes to position holders in the closing ceremony.

Dr Muhammad Ayoub seeding second in the round-robin starting rank, presented extraordinary performance, breaking all records with stunning 15 wins in 15 games, conceding his opponents not even a single draw. Special prizes were given to Dr Muhammad Ayoub by BCA and Secretary Sports and Quetta chess club president Zafar Ali khan. Ali Madad finished second, whereas  Musawir khan won bronze, after a fighting game against the new champion.

Hazrat Ali gained a FIDE rating in the tournament at age 75 years.

All the fighting games in the event were video recorded and will be published on BCA official youtube channel “Quetta chess academy” with commentary.
