Iran men’s team edged China 2.5-1.5 to grab solo lead in the Asian Games Men’s Chess Team Championship with 6 match points from 3 rounds. India and Uzbekistan follow in second slot with 5 match points each. GM Parham Maghsoodloo led the charge for Iran by beating Asian Games individual gold medalist Wei Yi of China on board 1 as the other games were drawn.
In the women’s division, India beat Indonesia 3.5-0.5 to grab solo lead with 6 match points as well. The Chinese women trail in second slot with 5 match points followed by Kazakhstan and Vietnam with 4 match points each.
