The 2nd Sri Lanka Women’s Chess Grand Prix 2021 – 2nd leg conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is going to happen in April 2021 in Kandy. Exact dates will be informed.
This is one of the leading Women Chess Events in Sri Lanka where only top Women players participate in the Round Robin basis. If there are more players, two Round Robins and a Knocked out events.
The event is scheduled 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th (Evening only) April, 1st and 2nd May 2021.
Though it is in Kandy, any player eligible from Sri Lanka is allowed to play.
The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is offering cash awards of RS. 70,000/= , Medals and Trophies for the winners. (Rs. 30,000/=, Rs. 20,000/=, Rs. 10,000/=, Rs. 6,000/= and Rs. 4,000/=).
The event will be played on the time control of 90 minutes with 30 second increment. Event will be live broadcasted.
Chess players with the following performance are eligible: International players are also welcome.
1. Women International Chess Masters Foreign WIMs are allowed. (Maximum 3 players)
2. Top 5 players in the Sri Lanka Women’s National Chess Championship 2020 (Goes till 10 filling vacancies.)
3. The Women’s National Amateur Chess Champion 2020
4. Sri Lanka Mercantile Women’s Chess Champion 2020.
5. Five players having more than 1700 ELO according to the latest International Rating List 2020
6. Two players with highest Women performance from the International Rating Chess
Tournaments held so far. (Earlier points system is used to rank, Champion get 10, Runner up 9, Third 8 till no 10 get 1) (Instead of points system Should win Women’s Championship in at least one event and placed in top three in another./ Played at least 5 event ) Including 2019.
7. Wild Card Entries
Those who are interested to get Wild Card Entries should make a request to this Email with their FIDE ID, Highest rating achieved ever, and performances to declare. Theses entries are allowed after evaluation by CFSL.
Entry Fee – Rs. 2,000/= for 1-6 players.
Rs. 8,000/= per Wild Card.
