Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines Lead Respectively in ASEAN Age Group Championships

After six rounds of the ASEAN Age Group Zone 3.3 Online Chess Championships, clear leaders are emerging in the various age groups. Visit chess-results.com for round by round results, standings and to download games.

Over 500 players participating from nine countries, namely Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam. The tournament is organized by the Asian Chess Federation and hosted by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.

The tournaments are 9-round Swiss system events except for Under-16 girls which is a 9-round Round Robin. Time control is 15 minutes plus increment of 10 seconds per move starting from move 1. Games are played on Tornelo and Fair Play rules are strictly implemented.

Caleb Royce Garcia of the Philippines leads the alone with 5.5 points in the boys Under-8.

Le Anh Tu (VIE) leads with 5.5 points in the boys under-10

Dinh Nho Kiet and Dau Khuong Duy, both of Vietnam, share the lead with 5.5 points each in the  boys under-12

Ivan Travis Cu of the Philippines and Dang Anh Minh of Vietnam are neck and neck with 5.5 points each in the boys under-14

Prin Laohawirapap of Thailand and John Jerish Velarde of the Philippines are tied for the lead with 5 points each in the boys under-16

Poh Yu Tian of Malaysia leads alone with 5.5 points in the Boys Under-18

In the Girls Division:

Truong Mi Na of Vietnam is alone with 6 points in the girls Under-8

Nguyen Minh Chi (VIE) is alone with 5.5 points in the girls under-10

Le Thai Hoang Anh (VIE) leads alone with 5.5 points in the girls uder-12

Le Minh Thu of Vietnam leads alone with 5.5 points in the girls under-14

WCM Nguyen Hong Nhung of Vietnam leads alone with 5.5 points in the Girls Under-16

Ong Zhiwei of Malaysia leads alone with 5.5 points in the girls under-18
