Zones Hold Qualifiers for Asian Juniors and Girls Online Chess Championships

Zonals started 27th May to select qualifiers to the Asian Juniors and Girls Online Chess Championships organized by the Asian Chess Federation and Chess.com.

The Finals, scheduled 3rd June for the Girls and 4th June for the Juniors, will be 9-round Swiss System tournaments.

Players were proctored in a Zoom room separately for girls and boys by Chief Arbiter Abdulrahim Mahdi and Technical Delegate Casto Abundo. Tournament Director Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh made pairings by Swiss Manager and input into Chess.com. Assisting the organization were: IA Haroon or Rashid of Bangladesh, KK Chan of Hong Kong, IA Patrick Lee and FA Felix Poloyapoy of Philippines, IA Irina Gevorgyan of Uzbekistan, FA Anuar Ismagambetov from Kazakhstan and IA Shaun Press of Papua New Guinea.
